April crash remains under investigation
Old Lycoming Township Police and Hepburn Township fire department responded to a single vehicle crash late on April 25 in the area of Lycoming Creek Road and Route 473.
Upon arriving, officers found that the driver, a Lewis Township man, had not been wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.
According to police, the vehicle left the roadway near Route 973 and traveled through a local business, striking a telephone pole. The vehicle traveled another 240 feet and struck a tree head on.
The driver was transported by ambulance to Williamsport Hospital and then flown by helicopter to Geisinger Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.
Police still are investigating the cause of the crash.
