TODAY

Day of Peace celebration

St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St., will celebrate a Day of Peace starting at 8:30 a.m. with a Mass and other events that conclude with a benediction of the Blessed Sacrament at 11:45. Afterward, at St. Ann’s, 1220 Northway Road, an Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be held at noon and other events continue until 7 p.m. when a prayer vigil for peace with a candlelight procession will be held.

Bridging of the gap

The second annual Bridging of the Gap Basketball Game, presented by First United Methodist Church, First Church Team Elite and Redeemed Ministry, will be held from 1-4 p.m. at Flanigan Park in Williamsport.

Baked steak supper

DuBoistown United Methodist Church, 133 Summer St., will hold a baked steak supper from 4-6 p.m. Takeouts available from 3-4 p.m. only. Cost is $8.50 for adults, $4.50 for children 3 to 10 and free for those under 3.

The Greens to perform

The Greens, a nationally known Gospel Music ministry from Fulton, N.Y., will present a Christian music concert at the Twin Hills Church of the Nazarene, 578 Cemetery Road in Montoursville, at 10:15 a.m. A love offering will be received.

1st responders service

MIFFLINBURG – Mifflinburg Alliance Church, 1.25 miles north of Route 45 off Forest Hill Road, will hold a First Responders Sunday service during the 10:30 a.m. worship time. Included will be a special presentation by the honor guard of the Scranton Police Department and a message about faith in the line of duty.

TUESDAY

Senior citizens luncheon

Episcopal Church of Our Saviour, 31 N. Loyalsock Ave. in Montoursville, will hold senior citizens lunches at noon the second Tuesday of each month starting today until May. All seniors are invited. Free-will donations are accepted.

WEDNESDAY

Outdoor movie night

MUNCY – The youth group of the First United Methodist Church, 602 Market St., host an outdoor movie night on the front lawn starting at dusk with the concession standing opening one hour prior. People attending are encouraged to bring camping chairs or a blanket. A free-will offering will be taken to help with the costs of the movie.

Puppets at Elmcroft

LEWISBURG – Kingdom Kidz Puppet Ministry, the sacred division of Kingdom Kidz Inc., will present a program at Elmcroft Senior Living Community, 22 Old Turnpike Road, at 6 p.m.

FRIDAY

Meatloaf dinner set

All Saints Episcopal Church, 1656 Scott St., will hold a meatloaf dinner from 4-6:30 p.m. Takeouts will be available. Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children 6-12 and free for those 5 and under. Call 326-0191 for more information.

Beth Moore simulcast

Community Baptist Church, 1853 Route 87, will host the simulcast of the Living Proof Live with Beth Moore conference for women of all ages. The event begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends at 4:15 p.m. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. Tickets are $15 and cover one full day of music and worship, sessions led by Beth Moore and opportunities for fellowship with other women from the Lycoming County community. Outdoor tent service

National Back to Church Sunday will be celebrated at St. Paul-Calvary United Methodist Church, 1427 Memorial Ave., with an outside tent service at 10:30 a.m. There will be a fellowship luncheon following, so plan to bring a dish to share. Meat, beverage and table service will be provided.

Annual hymn sing set

MUNCY – The Rev. Beverly Cotner, pastor of Messiah/St. James Lutheran Parish of Clarkstown/Pennsdale, will be the minister at the annual hymn sing at Old Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lime Bluff Road, at 2:30 p.m. Old Immanuel is the mother church of Lutheranism in Lycoming County. Founded in 1791, it lived until its doors shut permanently in 1920. The public is invited to attend the service as well as to tour the historic church. Light refreshments will be served after the service.

Trip to Broadway show

CANTON – Four tickets remain for a Benedict’s Bus Co. trip to New York City to see the Broadway show “Mamma Mia.” Sponsored by the Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) of Canton, the cost of $150 per person includes the trip, show and breakfast.
