The expert

Once again the President of the United States has demonstrated his contempt and rejection of the Constitution; and, ultimately, his Oath of Office. This opportunity came as he spoke to new Congressional summer interns in D.C. about Independence Day. He seems to think that the policies of King George III, even though thought of as a tyrant by the Colonies, weren’t that bad. He used the usual rich vs. poor tactic on taxes and, to me, twisted the Gospels saying the rich don’t help the poor so it’s up to government. “God instructs us to help our neighbors. He does not tell us to look down on them through the windows of Capitalism. Why then, on the Fourth of July, should you celebrate such a radical break from what is Godly and just?” See how certain people can take history, in this case the Founding of our Country, and make the enemy of our country seem like our friend. When asked by one of the students if we should still celebrate the Fourth of July, the President said, “I believe we should celebrate where we are going. Celebrate moving forward. not where we have been.” I’ve always heard if you forget your history, you are bound to repeat it.

This President says to forget the Founders, who “sacrificed their lives, their fortunes, their sacred honor”, George Washington and all who died for this country in the Continental Army, Stonewall Jackson at New Orleans, President Lincoln and Gettysburg and the Civil War, Woodrow Wilson and segregation, The Roaring Twenties, the Great Depression and government’s failures to end it, World War II and the fight against Japanese Imperialism and the National Socialist dictatorship in Germany, the Korean War, Vietnam, LBJ’s Great Society program and its failure to end poverty, Jimmy Carter’s misery index, Ronald Reagan and his support for a strong military, an equally strong economy, and his success at ending the Soviet Union, the Clinton adultery scandals, Sept. 11 and its intelligence failures, the War in Iraq and it’s failures, and the havoc created by government bailouts and quantitive easing leading to inflation and the ruination of the once mighty American economy and dollar.

I just wonder actually how much of that list is taught anymore in education. What have we turned into?
